About Morten

I moved my family to Phuket in 2020, settling in Bang Tao to be near the international schools. What started as a two-year plan became a permanent relocation. Along the way we've survived the international-school admissions process, figured out which areas actually work when you're doing a daily school run, built a network of contacts across immigration, banking, and healthcare, and learned the difference between the Phuket expat community as marketed and as lived.

I co-founded Phuket Expat Guide with Fredrik Filipsson because there was no honest, family-focused resource for people making the move. Everything else was either tourist content or surface-level Thailand advice. We wanted something deeper, specific to this island, and written by people who still live through the reality every day.
