- Orthopaedics — particularly well-regarded in Phuket. Good for sports injuries, joint issues, physiotherapy referrals. The Thai boxing and fitness community here generates a lot of ortho work.
- Obstetrics and gynaecology — decent department. Many expat women use Siriroj for routine OB/GYN rather than paying Bangkok Hospital prices.
- Cardiology — competent for diagnostics (ECG, echocardiogram, stress test). For complex interventional cardiology (stenting, bypass) you'd likely be referred to Bangkok Hospital or flown to Bangkok.
- Dental — yes, there's a dental department. Basic and routine work is fine here at lower prices than Bangkok Hospital.

- Sports injuries and orthopaedics — the orthopaedic team has a strong reputation among the Phuket fitness community. Multiple people I know use Siriroj specifically for this.
- Routine OB/GYN and women's health — many expat women prefer Siriroj for routine gynaecology. For high-risk pregnancies, Bangkok Hospital is better positioned.
- Blood tests, X-rays, standard diagnostics — get these done at Siriroj, save 30–40% vs Bangkok Hospital, same result quality.
- Dental work — cheaper than Bangkok Hospital Dental Centre; fine for routine check-ups and basic treatment.
When to Choose Bangkok Hospital Phuket Instead

- Language support is critical — if you need a complex medical conversation in English, Bangkok Hospital's international patient centre is far more equipped.
- Cardiac intervention — for complex cardiac events, Bangkok Hospital Phuket's cardiac centre is more comprehensive.
- Oncology — Bangkok Hospital has a dedicated cancer centre. Siriroj doesn't have the same oncology resources.
