Phuket Town

The best cheap food on the island. Ranong Road (the wet market area) has shophouse restaurants serving dim sum, congee and Hokkien noodles from 6am. Kopitiam by Wilai (Thalang Road) for traditional Peranakan breakfast and lunch. The Lard Yai Walking Street (Sunday evenings, Thalang Road) for cheap street food.

Chalong

Strong local scene with numerous Thai restaurants around Chao Fa East Road. The area near Chalong circle (Wat Chalong junction) has 15+ Thai restaurants with authentic food at local prices. Popular expat spots include the cluster of restaurants opposite Chalong pier and along the canal road.

Rawai / Nai Harn

The Rawai Seafood Market promenade has the best fresh seafood at market prices — choose your fish from the vendors, take to nearby restaurants, pay cooking charges (฿80–200). Nai Harn village has several excellent Thai restaurants. Nikita's (beachside) for a splurge with Nai Harn beach views.
